wish list

I added some new books to my Amazon Wishlist last night.  Can you tell what's on my mind?

Day dreaming.

No, I think I prefer, preparing.  Preparing for our "one day".

"Natural Goat Care" is THE book to have. It's made a huge difference with my goats!

I hope your goat dreams come true!

Really? You have to report back when you get them one day!

Just read your comment on my post, so here's my reply. :-) If you want to go with a small breed, might I recommend Nigerian Dwarf or Mini-Nubians? A friend of mine has Nigerians, and I'm currently boarding them until they have a place for them at their new house. They're so sweet and friendly, small, good milkers, and feed efficient.

We have a little under an acre of land, but we still have plenty of room for our full-sized dairy goats. Goats are so flexible in their needs. Hope it works out for you "some day"!

And thanks for the prayers, I'm so ready for this baby to hurry up and get here!

I do a lot of 'in preparation' reading myself! This winter it will all be about gardening! Goats...wow...so much fun!

We've raised Nigerian Dwarves and Mini-Lamanchas (Nigerian/Lamancha cross). I would totally recommend the mini Lamanchas! They are reasonably sized, and we get about 2 quarts per doe, per milking.

Goats are wonderful! If you can handle dog ownership, you can handle goats. The chief difference is the hoof care (it can be demanding), and the commitment to milking. They really are a joy, though. I hope that you can make it happen for your family! :)
