Way back in August, the folks at Tropical Traditions sent over a 32 oz jar of their Gold Label Coconut Oil for me try out. I was so excited because I had read glowing reviews about this oil!
It is not an unknown fact that I am crazy about coconut oil. Scientifically speaking my body is composed of roughly 88% coconut oil. Ok, that's not exactly accurate. But I use it for everything! It is a true super food, so obviously I cook with it! It has a high cooking heat to it so it is great for sautéing vegetables. It is also my preferred oil for baking. I've found that I've been able to reduce the sweetener in my baked goods when I use coconut oil because of the natural sweetness that comes through. Apart from baking, I use coconut oil extensively in my personal care. I use it to remove eye make-up (or face paint for the the kids). I use it as an all over moisturizer (including my face). I use it to dilute essential oils. I've also used it in salve preparation. It has successfully reduced skin inflammation for myself and my children. It is such a versatile product that I feel like every home should have it on hand!
Here are some other uses:
I have tried several different brands of coconut oil. I have never really met one I haven't liked. And while I'll pretty much eat any organic unrefined coconut oil, there are some that are better than others. And I have to say, Tropical Traditions is the best I have ever tasted! The difference is more in the feel of it. It is very light on the tongue and has a lovely, fresh taste to it. That is because Tropical Traditions prepares their coconut oil in the traditional way- - by hand. Where most present day companies are making their oil from dried coconuts, crushed by machines, Tropical Traditions uses fresh coconuts. The difference is really noticeable!
Have you ever tried this product?
Would you like to?!?!
Tropical Traditions would like to make one of you very happy with a free jar of coconut oil! Isn't that so generous?

This looks perfect. I love learning new things from my hippy friends. I had no idea what I had been buying is made from dried coconut. I'd love to see the difference with fresh.
