merry christmas!

Last week was a crazy one for me.  A few hours after posting all of my lofty goals for St. Lucia day, the tickle in my throat turned into something serious.  I was in bed 4 out of 7 days last week.  And I'm still not 100%.  Bronchitis my friends.

However, I am so thankful that I was able to read to my children at bedtime last night.  That I was able to get up early this morning and put the nuts on to dehydrate.  That we can celebrate winter solstice tonight with toasty, mama made pajamas.  And toasty marshmallows!  That I can go out to lunch with my family today to celebrate my birthday (just 3 days early!).  That I can celebrate Christmas with my extended family (and hopefully only need a limited number of naps to get through it).

There are still oat baths to be made, chocolate bark to melt down and sibling gifts to finish up.  We are having such fun getting done what we can and leaving out the things we can't.  Being in bed all last week gave me lots of time to embroider (I'll share next week how embroidery- and Maya Made-  saved Christmas this year) and watch streamed episodes of 'Bones'.  The only things I missed while I was in bed were my family.  What a wonderful opportunity to put things in perspective for me, in this week before Christmas.

Now that I've marked some things off my list that didn't really matter anyway,  I'm ready to contemplate, and celebrate, Emmanuel.

God with us.

Merry Christmas my friends!

Your home looks beautiful!

I love crossing off the unnecessary. It all seems so important when you make the list, but as it slowly gets "undone" you realize al the things you can cross off.

Here's to a simplified holiday!

Merry Christmas, Mandi.

Love the lights! I am STILL working on my coffee filter wreath...it was way more time consuming than I thought. Or maybe my attention span is to short?! Hope your back to 100% soon! Merry Christmas!

Ugh, no fun to be sick at Christmas, and with much to do! Last year I spent the better part of the week before Christmas in bed with some horrid flu.

Glad you're on the mend, though. Hope you can continue to enjoy! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one trying to enjoy the things I can get done and let go of the things I can't.

Merry Christmas!

Oh no! Mama, if I had known, I would have brought dinner or done something useful! Glad you're on the mend. Blessings.
