3 things

1. First off- tomorrow is Market Day out at Home Sweet Farm. We're going to be there again peddling granola. Please come out and join us!

2. Target sells Monchichis! All together now:
"Monchichi, monchichi, so furry soft and cuddly!"
Do you remember the line "monchichi, monchichi, I can do karate!" or did I make that up? That is very much how I remember the jingle going as a child!

3. Speaking of monchichis, my hair on the no'poo regime was beginning to resemble one, so I washed it. With shampoo. I'm pretty sure it saved my marriage. After almost 2 weeks of John moving in for a kiss and me shrieking "DON'T TOUCH ME! I'M HIDEOUS!!!", it was time for a change. A change in a cleaner feeling direction.

With her thumb in her mouth she's really sweet. (something-something) tickle her little feet...

Oh yes, my sister and I coveted the monchichis. Now I'm going to have the monchichi song in my head all day! ;)

No idea what a monchichi is! Where have I been?

I was interested in the no 'poo, too! We're almost out of our current shampoo/conditioner...what should I get? This was the next phase of products that were going to be replaced but I have no idea where to start! PLEASE SHARE!!!

I tried the "no 'poo" thing about six months ago and hated it. I made it almost three weeks and felt disgusting the whole time. I couldn't stand the smell. The worst part was that my hair is very thick and wavy so it had the worst tangles I've ever had. I finally gave in and washed it with shampoo...and loved every minute of it! I guess I'm not that granola after all. :)

Chrys-
My hair is like yours- thick and wavy. So yeah, it wasn't pretty. Mine never smelled vinegary or anything, but it felt so heavy and oily. Yuck!

Kirby-
Girl...monchichis were all the rage in the early 80's. There was a cartoon and everything.
As far as shampoo goes, I like Aubrey Organics. They are one of the purest shampoos I've found. Lately I've been using Alaffia. I love that it is fair trade. It's also made with coconut oil (which I am sure makes up about 75% of my body chemistry by this point). However, it can start feeling pretty heavy too. Oh, I also like Avalon Organics. Burt's Bees is another good place to start- easy to find. It's been a little drying for me.
I stay away from Jason's and Nature's Gate. Neither one are as 'natural' as they claim.

I remember the karate addition to the monchichi song, too! I also remember it going like this, "Monchichi, monchichi...I can do karate. Monchichi, monchichi...oops I am sorry!" ;-) Thank you for bringing out fond memories of my monchichi! I have to go to Target and get one for my friend who is about to have a little girl.

I am totally lost about the monchichis, but I am glad to hear about your no-poo journey. I tried it for 6(!) whole weeks of nastiness before I finally gave up and switched back to shampoo. I laughed out loud when reading you ducking from your husband--I did the same exact thing!

LOL. Ok, I haven't even tried it yet, but maybe I will. Or maybe I will finally try making my own soap/shampoo bars and let you know how that goes! Maybe both. Hmmm, did I just commit? Hope not. I seem to be on a sloowwww pace these days!

Glad to hear no'poo is over. Glad you did it so I won't have to! ;-) I had my doubts. IT sounded like a good idea. If baking soda works on my sink, tub and, armpits, then why not my hair? I could see it. Oh well.

I remember the song, but never had the doll. I'm sure I had the knock-off monkey doll at some point.
Hey - did you know that Clorox bought Burt's Bees? It's not as appealing to me now that I know Clorox owns it. Fortunately, I never really loved any of their products.
